About

Terry has been editing film and video for 50 years, specializing in spots, videos, and dramatic films. Working with nationally known directors, producers, and cinematographers, his editing credits include feature films and trailers, made for TV movies, episodic television series, educational and industrial films, and documentaries.
Starting out in his mother's basement in the 1972 with a Bolex, a 16mm projector, and a splicer, Terry's passion for editing landed him a job with his filmmaking professor right out of college, assisting on docs, eds, and industrial films. In 1981 his storytelling skills led him to a dramatic series being produced in Washington, where he quickly became the primary editor. More dramatic shows followed culminating with an NBC "After School Special" in 1984 ("Out of Time") and a feature film ("The Imagemaker") in 1985.
With 2 small children to raise Terry couldn't resist the lure of commercials, so he built a film editing studio in an old Grist Mill, serving the Baltimore ad community. With the advent of non-linear computer-based editing in the early 90's, Terry moved his business to Washington, where he already had many clients, and quickly expanded, adding more editors.
In 2004, Terry formed e3 Post, a boutique editing house, where Terry personally edited corporate videos and spots for such clients as GE, Toyota, Freddie Mac, Verizon, Pfizer, the U.S. Army, Telefonica, and political campaigns in 46 states including five Presidential races. Among the many awards his films have earned is the 1997 and 2007 Peer Award for best editing.
In 2009, Terry relinquished his managerial position at e3, concentrating on what he loves best: storytelling. Recently, working out of his homes in Baltimore and Florida, he has been fashioning videos for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, helping to make the world safer for automobiles and the people who drive them. Someday he would love to get back to his ultimate passion of editing dramatic films.
Terry Halle received his B.A. degree from Washington University in St. Louis and is a cum laude graduate of Friends School in Baltimore, where he was inducted into the 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame. He and his wife, an artist, have two children, and two grandchildren.
